Thanks for this remembrance of Sheldon Brown, a true mensch to all cyclists and a godfather of rec.bicycles.tech. In the spirit of Sheldon Brown I found some little-used tools & bits and dropped them off at the Bicycle Kitchen.

Any time I have a mechanical question, Mr. Brown's website is the first place I look. He has a matter-of-fact way of explaining things, and isn't afraid to tell you what 'innovations' are more marketing than substance.
